For 22 years this Nashville native has been writing about food for a host of publications from the now-defunct Nashville Banner, the Nashville Scene, nashvillepost.com, Relish magazine, Fine Cooking and the Wall Street Journal, with bylines and credits as far away as Great Britain.

As a cookbook editor for a decade, she edited several dozen community cookbooks and authored a handful for schools, Scouts and more. You probably have one of her books your cookbook shelf.

She’s penned three cookbooks for others and one under her own name. She wrote a shopping guide to London. She researched and wrote a history of Nashville neighborhoods. She tested kitchen gear for Fine Cooking magazine. She visits restaurants for the Nashville Scene‘s food blog.

Nicki loves a walk in the woods and a good bike ride, a beautiful garden, an involved kitchen project, conversation with friends, and a hand of rummy. She adores archives and libraries and old cookbooks. She can’t choose between a cottage on the beach and a cabin in the mountains. She lived in Cambridge, England, for several years. She spends a lot of time thinking about dinner, and about sustainable seafood. She’s always writing a book in her head.

She started a new chapter in 2009 by enrolling in radiography school. She received her RT certificate in October 2011 to become possibly become the world’s only cookbook editor-mammographer.  Click on the links for more information about articles, blogs, books and more.
